Indonesian Technocrat University student Sely Septiani has won the Surabaya Mayor’s International Open Karate Championship in Surabaya, East Java.

Sely got a gold medal after defeating a karateka from Bali in the final round of the women’s senior kumite class minus 55 kg.

Previously, this Sports Education Study Program student went through a fierce battle in the qualifying round. He had to fight hard against the karateka of Banten, East Java and Brunei Darussalam.

Sely admitted that he was quite grateful for the gold medal he had won. This became a great gift for him, Forki Lampung and his beloved campus, Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia.

“I myself have prepared this for a long time by joining the Forki Lampung Pelatda to prepare for the 2020 PON in Papua,” he said in a written statement.

Sely is grateful for always getting support from the Indonesian Technocrat University to become the champion.
“The form of support is dispensation from college to get scholarships until now,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Sports Education Study Program at the Indonesian Technocrat University, Rizky Yuliandra, said that Sely was an outstanding student and every championship he participated in always won a medal.

“This proves Sely’s commitment to synergizing with the Indonesian Technocrat University campus has a superior jargon, namely the campus is the champion, we will continue to support our students to excel,” he said.

Rizky also admitted that he always received full support from the Chancellor of the Indonesian Technocrat University, Dr. HM. Nasrallah Yusuf.
“What our rector always says, ‘don’t stop us from achieving,’ he said, imitating the rector’s statement.

His party is also preparing other sports to go to Pomnas Jakarta.
